Concern for Seals

Seals can face life-threatening dangers from entanglement, pollution, or injury. We collaborate with wildlife rescue organisations to provide swift intervention when seals are in distress.

We are volunteer marine mammal medics for the BMDLR (British Divers Marine Life Rescue), and respond to many calls locally regarding concern for seals.  With our local knowledge, a location and a photo we can put minds at rest by knowing who the seal is and why they are behaving the way they are or why they are raising concern.

Most of team are volunteers for the BMDLR, with many of us also volunteers for the Devon Wildlife Trust Marine Strandings Network taking calls for deceased wildlife, recording each stranding. Our local knowledge is invaluable.

If you see an marine mammal in distress please call BDMLR on 01825 765 546
