Sarah is the founder member of The Seal Project.
Her identification work of South Devon seals is important both to the The Seal Project and as part of a the Seal Research Trust's seal identification database.
Her stunning photos of the seals are found in the gallery, and can be purchased through email request. Sarah undertakes seal surveys at all hours of the day, ranging from the early hours until dusk, 365 days a year.
Sarah is a volunteer Marine Mammal Medic for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, working towards her Advanced Marine Mammal Medics Qualification. Sarah is also a volunteer for the RSPCA Wildlife Centre in Taunton, and a volunteer for the Devon Wildlife Trust Marine Strandings Network

Lee is a volunteer Marine Mammal Medic for the BDMLR (British Divers Marine Life Rescue).
The survey team depend on Lee's ability to care for and skipper the wildlife survey boat. It is a careful job to manage a boat so that it is still enough for team cameras to observe and survey the local seal population.
He is incredibly careful to ensure that distance is maintained so that our work can continue without any disruption to the marine life.
As well as being a trustee for the seal project, and being part of the Seal Alliance launch on BBC Breakfast with Sarah, Chris is a lifelong environmental campaigner and wildlife enthusiast. He started volunteering at a Bird & Wildlife hospital as a child and got his first Bill read in parliament at the age of eight.
He is part of countless conservation projects worldwide and in the UK he mainly volunteers with the Devon Wildlife Trust, RSPCA and his passion as the Devon Coordinator of British Divers Marine Life Rescue. He has also protected or planted over 9000 acres of forest or woodland across the world.
He has trained over 1,300 medics on how to rescue Seals, Dolphins, and Whales.
Jeanette is a passionate marine ecologist who loves to promote marine and science education. Jeanette currently splits her working week between Seadream Education and running human health research studies.
For The Seal Project, Jeanette assists in seal surveys and is recording grey seal vocalisation and behaviour. As a trained ORCA marine mammal surveyor and BDMLR Medic, Jeanette also loves to spend time afloat or around our shores.
Previous research completed by Jeanette has covered a wide range of habitats and species, studying both basking sharks and plankton off the coast of Plymouth; pilot whale distribution; inter-tidal species around various coastal areas of Devon and the Isles of Scilly; the fish population of Slapton Ley; eel-grass beds off Torbay.
She thoroughly enjoys communicating science and engaging with both children and adults though practical activities and presentations.
Sarah has become a seal identifier – with unrivalled knowledge of our seals seen around South Devon. They never cease to amaze us.
Through her devotion, dedication and attention to detail, she has become increasingly familiar with individual seals and is able to recognise many returning seals to the area by their fur patterns and behaviours.
